Cloud, Cloud and yet more Cloud!!

Posted by Kieron McGrath - 16:20 on 19 June 2012

Last night we had the first clear night after seventeen consecutive cloudy nights.

I log the condition of the skies every night for the SPA's Cloudwatch program (see previous blog).

The average number of cloud free nights for the past ten years in June is 10.9, so this year is looking grim, given that the weather is set to turn tomorrow night.

Interestingly, June 2002 was a bad year with only four clear nights recorded for the whole month. Must have blanked it from my mind!!
