Transit of Venus

Posted by Kieron McGrath - 12:26 on 07 June 2012

Like most of the UK we were clouded out for the transit of Venus. I set the alarm for 5am, but although it was bright, there was cloud low down to the north and east. Given that the transit would only be visible for less than an hour, I decided to go back to bed!

Fortunately I did witness the last Venus transit in 2004 from start to finish in great weather so at least I have seen one! I also observed the last transit of Mercury.
