Fine Accent Pieces Rendered In Brass And
Wood. Five Telescopes To Choose From.

The goal of B.Crist Miniatures is to provide astronomy enthusiasts with model
representations of the telescopes they both use and love. Although a model of the Hubble Space telescope may be nice to have, a model of "my" telescope is much more personal. The models not only provide the astronomer with a keepsake of a current or former telescope, but
provide a good example to explain the workings of these treasured instruments.

The Alvan Clark Refractor.
Alvan Clark refractors are the embodiment of optical excellence and astronomical nostalgia.
This miniature, our signature piece, seeks to capture the essence of the famous Clark
telescopes - from the gleaming brass to the massive mountings.
The miniature stands approximately nine inches tall with a main tube of eight inches length. It is moveable in both declination and right ascension and has folding wooden tripod legs.
This piece is modelled from an original 6 inch Alvan Clark refractor manufactured in 1904. It
makes an excellent bookshelf accent for the antique telescope enthusiast.

The Dobsonian Reflector.
This miniature has been designed to represent the intensely popular Dobsonian reflectors we
see in use by amateur astronomers everywhere.
It features full movement in altitude and azimuth. The azimuth bearing is made with teflon
pads and a plastic bearing surface. Non-functional flat mirrors give the model the look of the
real telescope. Because it is carefully balanced, like the real ones, it can be positioned in any
pose. The truss tubes are lightweight aluminium and the upper cage features a four vane
spider secondary support.
This miniature is a must-have for the deep sky enthusiast - and this is one that can go in the
living room!

The Schmidt-Cassegrain.
The Schmidt-Cassegrain miniature offers a solid brass representation of the very popular
high-tech, computer controlled instruments in use by many amateur astronomers today.
This miniature stands approximately six inches tall. It is moveable in altitude and azimuth and features a transparent corrector plate allowing a view inside the main tube assembly.
The Schmidt-Cassegrain miniature's design is a composite of the variety of commercial
instruments on the market today. It reproduces the classic design.

The Classic Newtonian Reflector.
What other telescope has done more to start a budding stargazer into serious study of the
heavens than the basic newtonian reflector?
With this miniature we seek to capture the simple elegance of the "old fashioned" Newtonian
reflector on an equatorial mount. Fashioned from solid brass, its four-inch main tube stands
about five inches tall on its pier mounting. Fully moveable in declination and right ascension, it makes an excellent gift for the astronomy nostalgia enthusiast.

The Four Inch Alvan Clark Comet Seeker.
The Comet Seeker represents a rare Alvan Clark refractor that was made in limited quantities.
It is made of rich Honduran rosewood and solid brass. It stands approximately six inches tall
and is fully moveable in both right ascension and declination. Antique telescope enthusiasts
and wood lovers will cherish this little gem.

NOTE: All of these miniatures are hand produced in limited quantities. Availability may vary.
Customers should be aware that they may have to wait more than 28 days for delivery.
