DslrLite is a low-cost - yet complete - computer-controlled software and hardware package for beginning or advanced DSLR camera astro-photographers. DslrLite is an entry-level
alternative to DslrStar - the advanced standalone or computerized-controller - DSLR
astrophotography system.DslrLite includes Windows software and RS232 serial cable that interfaces between Canon or Nikon DSLR camera bulb and the computer.

The basic DslrLite will work with Canon 300D, 350D or 400D. The A611 bulb cable is necessary for Canon 5D, 10D, 20D/20Da or 30D; the A623 IR remote is needed for Nikon D50, D70, D70s or D80.Interfacing to a digital single-lens-reflex camera mounted to a telescope, the DslrLite allows the user to set an unlimited number of exposure sequences. Image FITS files may be stored to the camera memory card or to the computer hard disk. DslrLite features include focus mode, sequences, FITS file manipulation or photo format
conversion (jpeg, tiff, etc.). Completed exposures are displayed on the computer monitor.

DslrStar: For standalone (no computer) operation, the DslrStar astrophotography controller
system is needed. DslrLite and DslrStar are separate products which share only a few
accessories between them. The DslrStar is housed a rugged metal case, which has
standalone control buttons or USB computer inteface, and LED readout. DslrStar includes
AC power transformer, USB cable, and software CD. Optional automotive jack, precision
temperature sensor, camera bulb cables or international interchangeable transformers are
available.DslrLite computer connection is compatible with any standard 9-pin RS232-compliant port; it can be connected to an USB-to-Serial port converter. The 3.5 mm stereo plug connects to the bulb port of the camera. Nikon cameras require the addition of the A623 IR Remote; Canon cameras (other than Rebel/Rebel XT) require the A611 for bulb connection.
