The Orion Epic II ED telescope eyepieces feature 6 individually polished lenses including 2 elements of high-quality “extra-low dispersion” ED optical glass for stunning true-color views! Thanks to the use of ED glass elements, the Epic II ED telescope eyepieces produce views of exquisite quality which are delightfully free of chromatic aberration, or color distortion, which plagues many other eyepiece designs. You can improve the quality of view in any telescope with an Orion Epic II ED eyepiece!

The Orion Epic II ED is a great eyepiece choice for viewing objects within our solar system, as well as many deep-sky objects thanks to its wide 55° - 60° apparent field of view. Its design of 6 individually polished lens elements arranged in 3 groups provides excellent correction and definition, yielding sharp stars across the entire field.

A safety channel on the eyepiece barrel exterior helps keep the Epic II ED securely installed in telescope focusers and diagonals. The Epic II ED telescope eyepiece’s easy-grip, rubberized housing features a convenient, twist-up rubber eyeguard to help properly position your eye to see the entire field-of-view. Its internally blackened barrel helps minimize glare and reduce “ghost” images. To enhance your observations, you can install any 1.25” Orion eyepiece filter on the Epic II ED eyepiece, as its 1.25” barrel is threaded for filter use.

All Orion Epic II ED telescope eyepieces are parfocal, so you can swap this models out for a different focal length Epic II ED eyepiece and enjoy the view without making major focus adjustments.
