A perfect telescope for beginners, the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector is manufactured with the kind of quality you’d expect only to find in much more expensive models. Everyone in the family will enjoy using the StarBlast thanks to its uncomplicated, simple design and high level of performance. The StarBlast won’t just give beginning amateur astronomers hour after hour of fun under the stars, but it will also nurture their interest in the night sky, thanks to its exceptional, high-quality optics. In fact, the optics of the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector are so good that it’s also an ideal choice for more experienced amateur astronomers looking for a compact and portable telescope to use as a grab-and-go alternative to larger, bulkier models that require more setup time.
With a 4.5” aperture parabolic primary mirror, the StarBlast 4.5 will wow the whole family with gorgeous views of the night sky. Fascinating craters and mountains on the Moon pop out in sharp detail through the pint-sized StarBlast 4.5 Astro Telescope, but you’ll see more than just the Moon with this capable reflector. On clear evenings, the StarBlast can display pleasing views of Jupiter with its orbiting moons and Saturn with its stunning rings. Thanks to its precisely crafted, wide-field f/4 optics and significant aperture, the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Telescope can reveal views of bright galaxies, distant cloudy nebulas, and sparkling star clusters for the whole family to enjoy.
The StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector has been designed with simplicity and performance in mind. The telescope swivels effortlessly on its sturdy wooden altazimuth base for point-and-view ease of use. In fact, the whole telescope comes pre-assembled and ready for stargazing action right out of the box! With a total assembled weight of just 13 lbs., the StarBlast 4.5 sets up easily for an educational night full of astronomical adventures.
Outfitted with a thorough set of included accessories, the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector telescope is well equipped for stargazing fun right out of the box. Two included 1.25” Kellner eyepieces, one 17mm and one 6mm, provide magnifications of 26x power and 75x power respectively. You can enjoy scanning the skies with the lower-power 17mm eyepiece and then swap out for the 10mm ocular to get a more highly magnified view. A handy removable eyepiece rack provides a helpful storage spot for unused telescope eyepieces. The included Orion EZ Finder II reflex sight makes aiming the StarBlast 4.5 “EZ” once a simple calibration process is completed, so you can precisely point the reflector anywhere in the night sky. We’ve even included a simple collimation cap to help maintain optical alignment of the StarBlast’s mirror optics. An included dust cap fits over the front of the telescope to prevent dust buildup.

Roth commented, "Orion is justifiably marketing the StaBlast as a kid's scope, and I wouldn't
hesitate to buy one for a reasonably mature child with a demonstrated interest in astronomy.
But even old-timers might find it an ideal second (or third, or ... ) scope for grab-and-go
stargazing, camping trips, or possibly even airline travel."
