CCD Cameras

CCD Cameras (Charge coupled device) are used for imaging the night sky. They are simple to operate and can be attached to most telescopes. SCS Astro offers a range CCD cameras from Orion Telescope & Binocular and Starlight Xpress. These cameras offer a wide range of resolutions (no of pixels) and chip sizes. Unlike DSLR's, which also use CCD chips, CCD cameras are usually cooled devices, which enable them to produce long exposures with a minimum of thermal noise.
