For daytime use, its fully coated 80mm achromatic objective lens produces sharp, vivid
images, whether you’re surveying mountain peaks or studying birds at close range. It’s at
home on a simple camera tripod, sets up in seconds, and is so compact (just 15-1/2" long)
you can take it hiking, or on an airplane in a carry-on bag.

For astronomy, the “ST80’s” modest 400mm focal length and fast f/5 focal ratio offer up
gorgeously spacious views of Milky Way star fields and extended star clusters and nebulas.
The Moon becomes a breathtaking sight, and you’ll easily resolve Saturn’s rings.

This telescope has been upgraded with a 6x26 correct-image finder scope. That means the
view through the finder now matches the naked-eye view and the view through the telescope!
And that makes observing easier and more intuitive.

The ST80 features a seamless aluminum optical tube and dew/glare shield. Other standard
accessories include a quick-release finder scope bracket, 6x26 correct image finder, 45°
correct-image prism diagonal, and 25mm (16x) and 10mm (40x) Sirius Plössl eyepieces
(1.25"). A built in 1/4"-20 mounting plate allows attachment to any standard camera tripod.
