Low Cost Colour CCD Images From SAC

SAC Imaging SACIV

The SACIV is much closer to the image quality of much more costly imaging cameras than
it's price would indicate. It will image almost anything you can see through the eyepiece. With
it's complete manual or automatic control of every aspect of the image and camera, practice
is the only thing you need for great images! The camera's ease of use will have you imaging
right out of the box !
The SAC-IV uses a highly sensitive Sharp chip. With 307,200 pixels arrayed in a pattern of
640x480 that measure only 8 microns across each pixel, this camera has a higher surface
area and potential resolution than many astronomical CCD cameras costing upward of $1,000!
And in full 24 bit color!

With the new focal reducer for the ETX90/125 and Nextstar 4 you can reduce these long focal
length telescopes in half. Also available without lens to be used as a visual back with the
ETX90 and 125.

The SACIV is housed in a cylinder case and is usable on any telescope or microscope. It
comes with an attached T-ring and uses a T-adapter to attach anywhere you use a 11/4"
eyepiece. The cylinder design allows it to be used with the Celestron FaStar system.

The SACIVc is the same as the "b" model except it includes the new integration software.
this software allows the camera to integrate 2 to over 5000 images automatically!

Being completely software driven, the SAC-IV CCD camera requires no more than a Pentium
processor computer running Windows 95 2nd edition, or later that is equipped with a USB
port. The SAC-IV comes complete with everything needed to attach to your computer and
telescope; you can begin capturing images as soon as you have installed the included driving
software!

If you don't have a USB port on your computer, any computer store can supply a USB card
that you can install. For laptops a PCMCIA USB card can also be supplied by your local
computer store. A USB port is used because of it's speed, allowing images in real time, and
because the USB supplies power to the camera.

The camera comes with 20' of USB cable, and with everything needed to image through your
telescope, plus driver software. For runs of more then 20 feet a USB amp is needed. Included
are two image processing software programs that are 30 day trials. These two programs are
Photoimpact-5 and Picture Window. Both are very good at processing images and are
included so you can see the benefit of such software.
